// engineer, builder, tinkerer
I'm Cam Bayona, an engineering student at the University of Central Florida with a focus on embedded systems, computer vision, and robotics. I like building things that sit at the intersection of hardware and software, whether that be an MP3 player to a robot, I have a passion for embedded systems.
Outside the lab I'm usually tinkering with side projects, learning PCB design, or figuring out how to squeeze more performance out of a microcontroller.
Completed an Associate of Arts in Engineering with a 3.51 GPA, building a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, and core engineering principles.
Built a pan-tilt camera system with real-time object tracking using OpenCV and closed loop control running on Raspberry Pi 4.
Worked with the Dream Team Engineering team to design and prototype a 3D printed calculator-mounted stencil in a 24 hr time period. Placed top 3 with honorable mention: Elegance.
Accepted into UCF for Fall 2026. Coursework set to include embedded systems, digital logic, signals & systems, and microprocessor design.
Extending a 2D Slamtec RPLidar C1 into 3D with a closed-loop servo system. Firmware written in C++ handling raw hexadecimal data.
